The Warli tribe of Dadra & Nagar Haveli (D&NH), often known as Warli Paintings, created this wonderful work of art. The Society for Promotion of Art, Tourism, and Culture (D&NH) is happy to showcase the tribal art of local artists to the rest of the world. Initially, these paintings were very simple wall paintings that used only a few fundamental geometric elements: a circle, a triangle, and a square. The artwork is monosyllabic. The circle and triangle are inspired by nature, with the circle representing the sun and moon and the triangle depicting mountains and pointed trees. The square, on the other hand, appears to follow a different logic and appears to be a human fabrication, denoting a sacred enclosure or a plot of land.• Day to day life in a village • Celebrations • Scenes of hunting, fishing, and farming • Animals and birds • Natural beauty • Gods and Goddesses – mother goddess-symbolizing fertility, Gamdev-Village god, etc. Each painting is handcrafted on canvas using traditional natural colours such as red mud, wood coal, rice flour paste, and a variety of mixed colours.
